Why eliminate cellulite from the buttocks?
Eliminating cellulite from the buttocks requires liposuction. Generally, this important aesthetic surgery treatment is performed when cellulite and localised fat affect a person’s figure and cause problems. Before resorting to aesthetic surgery, you could try to lose weight and therefore excess fat through proper nutrition and exercise. The more weight that is gained, the worse cellulite becomes.

Cellulite can build up around the buttocks. The skin of the buttocks that are affected by cellulite has a dull appearance, is cold and painful to the touch, lacks elasticity and resembles orange peel. Cellulite is also caused by the stagnation of fluids. Through stagnation, sclerotic collagen blocks the adipocytes that are no longer hydrated. Oxygenation is poor and there is a build-up of waste and fluids.
Cellulite becomes visible because it takes on the classic “orange-peel” appearance, as well as presenting a strong inflammatory state.
This is because, unlike fat, cellulite is an inflammatory condition of the tissue.

Buttocks: Fat or cellulite?
Fat looks different from cellulite — the skin is firmer, does not have the “orange peel” appearance and is not sore to the touch. The function of fat in the body it is of vital importance because it is a main source of energy. Fat accumulates at various critical areas like the abdomen, hips, thighs and buttocks, but normally it is distributed all over the body.
A balanced diet and regular physical exercise help you to keep the amount of body fat under control.

Why do we need to accumulate fat? Fat is the energy reserve that the body must have available to carry out its everyday activities and be stored for future use. If you consume more calories than your daily calorie needs, the excess accumulates in the form of fat. These deposits of stored fat are used up when the body requires energy.

Eliminating cellulite from the buttocks: causes
The factors affecting the formation of cellulite and fat on the buttocks include:

  • Little or no physical activity
  • Unhealthy food choices
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Heredity
  • Sagging of the skin caused by aging

Aesthetic surgery can eliminate cellulite; less invasive aesthetic techniques can improve it, although the results are usually temporary.

Eliminating cellulite from the buttocks: liposuction
Liposuction is the aesthetic surgery used to eliminate cellulite from around the buttocks. Liposuction requires general anaesthesia, but local anaesthesia can be used for mini-liposuction. Surgical procedures are not recommended during the hottest months of the year. The desired results will be visible over time and are not immediate, also due to widespread water retention. Although it is possible to eliminate cellulite from the buttocks, the causes behind cellulite formation (water retention and reduced capillary circulation) remain and the surface cellulite could remain visible.

Eliminating cellulite from the buttocks: aesthetic medicine
Non-invasive techniques include:

  • Cavitation
  • Ultrasound
  • Radiofrequency
  • Electrolipolysis
  • Cryosculpture
  • Laser
  • Ozone therapy
  • Pressotherapy
  • Lymphatic drainage
  • Tissue stabilized guided subcision

The results are almost immediate, but not always long-lasting, so maintenance treatments are required.

Eliminating cellulite: tissue stabilized guided subcision, the new FDA-approved technology to eliminate cellulite dimples.

Tissue stabilized guided subcision brings lasting visible results against cellulite, directly targeting the structural cause: thick fibrous septae that pull the skin downwards, causing the typical orange peel appearance of the skin.

Tissue stabilized guided subcision to eliminate cellulite is a minimally invasive treatment, as there are no recovery times and the patient can make an immediate return to social and work life.

However, as a result of the treatment, it is necessary to take some measures to optimise the results achieved and limit any inconveniences.

This new treatment has received approval from the FDA, an American government agency that deals with authorising food and pharmaceutical products to be put on the market.

With tissue stabilized guided subcision the doctor can effectively and definitively reduce cellulite, working directly on the fibrous septae, severing them and bringing the skin back to an optimal condition, without unsightly dimples. With just one outpatient session, it is, therefore, possible to give the skin of the thighs and buttocks a homogeneous and toned appearance.

Eliminating cellulite from the buttocks: creams

Creams do not eliminate cellulite — they can only improve the appearance of the skin. With their draining effect, the active ingredients may help with diuresis and therefore address the issue of fluids.

Eliminating cellulite from the buttocks and reducing localised fat: diet

There are various food groups with different functions in the body and which provide a range of essential nutrients.

  • Proteins: in meat, dairy products, eggs and pulses.
  • Carbohydrates: the main sources are bread, cereals, pasta, sweets and sugar. These foods are stored as fat if they are eaten in excess.
  • Fats: ice-cream with cream or chocolate, vegetable oils (olive, soy corn, cod liver oil, etc.), lard and margarine.
  • Vitamins and minerals: the main sources are vegetables and fruit.

What should be avoided?

  • Excess salt
  • Foods that are very rich in fats, or overly processed
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Sweet foods and sugar
  • Long periods without food
  • Eating too much for dinner

What is preferable:

  • Raw vegetables
  • Frequent meals
  • Eating more for breakfast and lunch
  • Drinking plenty of water
  • Wholemeal foods

Eliminating cellulite from around the buttocks also helps reduce excess weight, which makes cellulite worse and is a health risk.
